Fran Gardner is a writer and editor who lives in Portland, Oregon.
She retired in 2008 from The Oregonian, a big newspaper in town. She was there for 32 years in all manner of positions, from op-ed editor to personal technology writer to copyeditor to food section writer and editor.
Her favorite stories are stories about people, but she's also interested in and knowledgeable about new advances in drug therapy, especially for multiple sclerosis.
The rest of the time she is copyediting books, which is absorbing and gratifying; writing poetry and fiction; playing the violin; and cooking healthy food for her sweet husband.
